Kashmir Trip 2022

In 2022, I planned a Kashmir route that covered Srinagar, Dal Lake, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam. The whole trip felt calm, scenic, and refreshing from start to finish.

I started in Srinagar and spent the first evening simply walking around local streets, trying Kashmiri tea, and adjusting to the cool weather. The city had a calm energy that made the trip feel special from day one.

Dal Lake was one of the highlights. I took a shikara ride in the late afternoon, and the reflections of the mountains and houseboats on still water made the whole place feel unreal. It was one of the most peaceful moments of the trip.

The next stop was Gulmarg. The roads opened into wide mountain views, colder air, and green slopes that looked different at every turn. I spent most of my time outside, just taking in the weather and the scenery.

Sonmarg felt more dramatic with river views and long valley roads. The drive itself was a full experience, with constant scenic stops and mountain backdrops that changed every few kilometers.

Finally, I reached Pahalgam. Compared to the busier spots, it felt slower and quieter. I took a long walk near the river, and that relaxed pace made it the perfect end to the journey.

Looking back, this Kashmir route gave me one of my favorite travel memories. Each destination had its own character, and together they created a perfect mix of nature, peace, and adventure.
